Overview

We are seeking to recruit a Motor Claims Officer to join our Motor Claims Department. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and processing motor insurance claims efficiently and in accordance with company procedures, ensuring that customers receive a professional and timely service throughout the claims process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Register and investigate motor insurance claims to determine validity and coverage.
  • Assess the extent of policy cover applicable to each incident.
  • Liaise with insurers, repairers, and other parties involved in the claim to establish liability and facilitate fair settlements.
  • Authorise claim payments, ensuring adherence to policy limits, internal controls, and legal obligations.
  • Handle and resolve customer queries with professionalism, providing clear advice and guidance as required.
  • Keep customers informed about the progress and outcome of their claims.
  • Manage all enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, maintaining the highest standards of service and compliance.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Be organised, meticulous, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exhibit integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Be fluent in both written and spoken Maltese and English.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • An Advanced level of education.
  • Strong customer service, communication and negotiation skills to interact with policyholders and other parties.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Maltese and English.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Skill in using MS Office Applications.
  • Work experience in the motor insurance industry would be considered an asset.
