We are looking for a Health Claims Officer to join our Health Claims Department and play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our clients.
In this role, you will assess, investigate, and process medical claims, ensuring they are handled accurately, fairly, and in line with company policy. You will also act as a point of guidance for clients, offering clear explanations and support throughout the process.
We’re looking for someone who is curious, sensible, and motivated to help others — a team player who can also take the initiative to solve problems and make sound decisions. A background in insurance or health-related fields will be considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process health insurance claims from first notification to settlement
- Assess and investigate claims, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate
- Communicate effectively with clients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders
- Apply company policies and regulatory guidelines consistently and fairly
- Support clients with clear, empathetic guidance during the claims process
- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex or unusual cases
Knowledge & Experience
- 2 years of experience in insurance claims handling is a must
- Having experience in a medical background would be an asset
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Analytical mindset with high attention to detail
- Customer service focus with the ability to manage sensitive situations
Qualifications
- Fluency in written and spoken Maltese and English
- Confident use of Microsoft Office applications
- A-Level standard of education
- Pursuing or holding a recognised insurance qualification or related degree (medical or health sciences background considered an asset)
